Welcome to SoftwareWarrior.NET!

Welcome to SoftwareWarrior.NET!

My name is Grant...C. Grant Anderson.

And I've been a Software Warrior in Microsoft C# and .NET for many years.

This is a my consulting company website.  Where people can learn a bit more about me, my amazing abilities, and my portfolio of all the things that I have built over my career.  Which is very deep, broad, and extensive.

What's a Software Warrior?

Well...There's programmers...Developers...Software Engineers...Coders...And people trying to become and be one of more of these...And succeeding...Or failing.

I code...And very much enjoy creating new and useful programs, apps, and websites via coding.

I've been an official Software Engineer...That's really an engineer with such a degree and background that develops software...And I take the discipline and skills that I develop for that into my more pure (less hardware) software development.  I "engineer" code wherever possible.  I don't "write" software.  Writing is for novels, creative purposes, and informational purposes.  It's not suitable to develop software from that approach or perspective.  Else s "short story" program becomes a "novel" in terms in length and unnecessary complexity.

I've been a software developer...And I still am.  But I'm a very different one from the vast majority of software developers.

And I've been a programmer.  What's the difference between a programmer and a developer.  A programmer can and does code, typically a small part of a larger program or system.  A developer has wider range of skills and abilities and works on a much larger more vertical part of the entire program/system/enterprise application.

So...What exactly am I?

I'm actually a DaVinci Mind...One of those rare people who think similarly along the lines of more advanced and much more capable persons such as Leonardo da Vinci.  For which "DaVinci Mind" is named after.

All of this is a bit of a large and relatively new story...You thought "geniuses" were born and not made?...Actually, it's the exact opposite - Geniuses are Self-Made not Born.  Through a lot of hard work, skill building, and self-development.  When you really look deep into Leonardo's life and actually read his remaining surviving notes and writings (Yes, most have been irretrievably lost unfortunately) you'll see that.  But the superficial views on Leonardo da Vinci miss this completely.

So...Think of me as a "ninja programmer", "ninja developer", "rockstar coder/programmer/developer", "outstanding developer", "10x programmer/developer/coder", etc.  There's been a lot of terms like these bandied about and debate about their characteristics and even whether they exist or not.

I've come up with the name "Super Developer" that I like the best (as "DaVinci Mind Developer" is something that I think that people just will not get).  And I've tacked on the "10x" to the term to become "10x Super Developer"...Which I think people will understand...Although it takes some explaining.

Why do I think that I'm a 10x Super Developer?

Partly because of what people say about me:

  • "The software is working well as intended. It's stable and reliable. We're very happy with it and your work.  We look forward to working with you on enhancements with the next release." Long Term Part Time Client  – 2022.
  • "You keep surprising me with how fast you come up with solutions!"  Client - 2022
  • “The consultant that reviewed your work said it was “Superb!”  CEO - 2016
  • “Grant, the DnF Chart Tool is incredible! It looks like a professional commercial application!  The software you replaced cost $2.2 million dollars to develop…And you built it all by yourself in a couple of months!”  AT&T - 2013.
  • “In all my years of experience I’ve never encountered a developer as good as you.” AT&T – 2013.
  • One Man Development Army!”, “Grant can do it all!”, “Grant’s a one-stop shop for development!”  AT&T – 2009, 2010
  • ”The (OLAP) cube experience and talent that was exhibited…is of exceptional nature.”  - Microsoft Solution Review - 2007.
  • And, yes, there's more of this...

Partly because when I compare myself with others:

  • Why don't they get it?  There's a much better way...
  • Why can't they keep up?  Why are they so slow?
  • Why can't they visualize the complete app system?  And see what needs to be done?
  • Why don't they see the software trainwreck that is looming?
  • Why don't they understand...?
  • Why do they have to be micro-managed by managers and scrums?  Can't they see what needs to be done and just do it?
  • Why don't they build tools and apps to automate this?  And that?  And that?
  • Why can't they see past the vendor's hype and poor practices?
  • Why are playing follow the "leader" when it's obvious there's a better and easier way?
  • Why...?
  • And the list of Whys go on...

And partly because I can:

  • Visualize a new app system/program very, very quickly...And in a fullness that they never seem to grasp.
  • Foresee what needs to be done before they think about it.
  • Foresee the upcoming and often inevitable software disasters and trainwrecks that they are oblivious and unseeing to.
  • See past vendor hype and approaches to benefit them but not us.
  • Weigh and balance the strengths and weaknesses and good/bad application of software technology and databases.
  • Be honest and straightforward and not play games such as the "Guru Game" and "Let's Make This a Career in Coding!".
  • Solve and code the really difficult, complex, and challenging software.
  • Deliver high quality code with very few bugs, problems, and short comings.
  • Build across multiple software and database technologies to achieve an Optimal Software Solution.
  • And...Yes...There's more...

So...I'm different.  Better, stronger, faster...

I'll talk more about all this here in my blog and also my SoftwareSuccess.Blog.

There's a LOT for me to talk about.

And most probably a LOT for you to learn that you won't find anywhere else!
